Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What should I know about the handcrafted nature of your waterfalls?

A. Our waterfalls are handcrafted in our signature material made from granite dust, silica, glass fibers and curatives - making them stronger and more durable than high-fire clay. Each leaf is hand formed and will vary in contour and texture; no two the same, just as in nature. Each leaf is also colored by hand and will vary in tint and pattern. Each leaf is dated and hand-signed by artist Curtis Jenney. Please use pictures on our website for general idea and inspiration, not as an exact representation of your custom-made product.

Q. What sizes do they come in?

A. Waterfalls are sold in sets of three leaves (or contact us to discuss a custom order). Sets are available in two sizes: SMALL or LARGE.

  • SMALL SET: Leaves measure 15-16” wide x 18-19” long - Total Dimensions of Small Waterfall: 16”h x 3’w x 3’d

  • LARGE SET: Leaves measure 24-25” wide x 27-29” long - Total Dimensions of Large Waterfall: 24”h x 5’w x 4’d

Q. What colors do they come in?

A. Waterfalls are sold in your choice of three colors:

  • HARVEST (Golden yellow center with warm red edges)

  • GRANITE GREY (Natural grey with natural tints of green and blue)

  • CALADIUM (Lush green center with warm red edges)

    • Please note: the previously offered color SANDSTONE has been discontinued.

Q. How much do your waterfalls cost?

A. The price for a SMALL waterfall is $515.00 (USD), and the price for a LARGE waterfall is $1,100.00 (USD).

Each waterfall set includes: (3) different sized leaves (small, medium and large), (3) staggered height pedestals, (1) water basin (black), (1) water pump, flexible tubing, and a helpful tip sheet for installation.

Q. How can I customize my waterfall?

A. Because every leaf is made and colored by hand, the saturation of the color on the leaves can be customized and made lighter or darker to suit your preference. You can arrange the leaves to curve to the left or right, and can adjust the tightness of the curve to suit your preference as well. You can also choose to install your waterfall water basin in-ground or above-ground, and can opt to use your own container as a water basin instead of the one provided. Please contact us directly if you are interested in a larger installation (ex: more than three leaves) or design recommendations for a focal area.

Q. Where can I find you to see and buy your products in person?

A. We sell our waterfalls at a variety of seasonal festivals, fairs and shows in the New England area and in Florida. Most of the events we attend offer free admission and are bustling with makers of all kinds. Please visit Where To Buy to view our current calendar of events.

Q. Can you ship?

A. Yes, we can! Please contact us directly for more information about shipping.

Q. How does setup / installation work?

A. Waterfall installation is D-I-Y and we provide you with a helpful tip sheet to make setup quick and easy! Installation generally takes less than one hour (more time if you are installing the water basin in-ground and digging is required). Start by choosing a display area for your waterfall that has a level and hard surface (ex: compacted dirt, stone patio or deck - avoid soft grass). Prep the surface, and provide an outdoor-safe extension cord and running water (garden hoses work great) to power your waterfall. Set the pedestals on the level ground, then set the leaves on top of the pedestals. Pipe the provided tubing through the waterfall, connect the tubing to the pump, then connect the pump to electricity. Fill the waterfall with water, turn on the pump, and enjoy!

Q. What if I have questions or need help?

A. Call or email us any time! We want you to love your waterfall as much as we loved creating it for you! Even if it’s years after your purchase, we always welcome you to reach out with questions or concerns.

Q. What maintenance is required?

A. The easiest way to keep your waterfall clean is to run it consistently for 24 hours. The pump uses approximately 20 watts of electricity and should only cost a couple dollars to run all month long. This keeps the water from ever becoming stagnant; preventing the growth of algae, bacteria and an invitation to mosquitoes. If needed, scrub the wet leaves of your waterfall with a plastic-bristle brush (dish or toilet brushes work great) and rinse with fresh water. If you have organic growth on the leaves and scrubbing is not enough, you can use a bleach solution to treat, scrub and thoroughly rinse.

The tops of the leaves of your waterfall have been treated with a xylene-based sealer or stain. Re-coating should not be necessary (we’ve tested this over decades in full Florida sun!). If the color in your leaves begins to look faded after a few years, you may have accumulated calcium deposits from your water. This can easily and safely be removed without damaging the finish by using muriatic acid (simply brush the product on, wait until the fizzing stops, and rinse thoroughly with fresh water).

Although there is a strainer on the water pump, we’ve found that utilizing a nylon stocking greatly improves the filtration, keeps debris from clogging the pump, and extends the life of the water pump. Simply slide the pump into the stocking (we find that knee-high stocking work best) and operate as usual. Black stockings are a good choice and should last for a full year.

Q. How do I winterize my waterfall?

A. If you live in an area where the temperature drops below freezing, you will need to winterize your waterfall by taking a few easy steps. Water must be kept from pooling and freezing inside the leaves, so simply turn the leaves upside down on their pedestals, or store the leaves and pedestals indoors for the season (best practice). After disconnecting the water pump and tubing, shake out any remaining water inside and store all components indoors. If your water basin is installed above-ground, drain the basin and store upside down or indoors for the season.

Q. Is there a warranty / guarantee on my waterfall purchase?

A. Yes! Our products are warranted to the original consumer purchase for a period of (1) one year from the original purchase. This warranty assures the original consumer purchaser that any product of our manufacture is as represented in our catalog, and is free from defect in material and workmanship. This warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, negligence, improper service, failure to follow instructions provided by the manufacturer, or other causes not arising out of defects in material and workmanship. This warranty does not cover products that have been cracked or damaged due to exposure to freezing temperatures.

Q. What if I need a replacement part?

A. Please contact us directly for any replacement needs.
